From Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, India, White Galaxy Granite is a medium-grained, white to cream granite (Granulite) with many clear crystals and some garnets suitable for granite worktops and tiles, wall cladding and prestigious architectural elements. The veining and colour varies little but a small sample of White Galaxy granite may not be representative of the whole slab therefore swatch samples must be approved for large projects to ensure that the blocks are all extracted from the same quarry face for matching purposes. During the polishing process a clear epoxy resin filler may be used to fill any micro fissures or tiny pitting however this does not affect the integrity of the stone, it merely provides an even smoother surface finish.
White Galaxy Granite is eminiently suitable for interiors and exterior work having a constant polish and being frost resistant.
Suitable for construction projects both commercial and domestic, prefabricated countertops/worktops, vanities, tiles, backsplashes, paving, fireplaces and memorials.
White Galaxy Granite looks best with a gloss polished surface but is also available as honed, leather/satin, river-washed/antique, thermal/flamed, flamed & brushed, water-jet, bush-hammered, sandblast and sawn finish.
Test with a small sample. It is possible that a sealant can be used on White Galaxy granite however excessive attempts at sealing it could actually create a residue film build-up.

A class of high grade metamorphic rocks of the granulite-facies that have experienced high-temperature and moderate pressure metamorphism. They are medium to coarse-grained and mainly composed of feldspars sometimes associated with quartz and anhydrous ferromagnesian minerals, with granoblastic texture and gneissose to massive structure.
The granulites are very closely allied to the gneisses, as they consist of nearly the same minerals, but they are finer-grained, have usually less perfect foliation, are more frequently garnetiferous, and have some special features of microscopic structure.
This is a very large white granite quarry yielding several, selectable, grades of granite with blocks suitable for gangsaw size down to economical tile-sized and monument blocks. Extraction commenced in the mid 1980s. For commercial projects it is important to ensure that blocks are selected from the same quarry face.
Rough blocks are usually exported by Break Bulk however intermodal containerisation is available at extra cost. Finished products are packed into sea-worthy wooden crates and loaded into containers.
